About
Le Petit Monkey – Handmade fashion accessories
HOW IT'S DONE
We create all our fashion accessories using high quality fabric, a sewing machine, and different types of yarn depending on the type of scarf or hair accessory that we want to create. Rosa is responsible for coming up with new ideas and DIY ways to make trendy fashion items in an easy and affordable way for you all. She is also a convo/email specialist and deals with most of the business related issues. Abuela Rosa comes up with new designs and makes all the headbands and chunky knit scarves that you guys all love so much. Douglas takes most of the pictures, models, assists in making scarves and places orders for supplies to keep us going. We make all our items in our basement study of our new home in Maryland. <3

WHERE DOES OUR NAME COME FROM?
Le Petit Monkey (LPM) comes from our first daughter. When she was not born yet we called her our “Little Monkey”. We named the shop in her honor using the Catalan word “Petit” instead of “Little”.
We started out of our downtown San Francisco one bedroom apartment back in 2012. The idea of the shop had been on my mind for a long time but it solidified on a bad hair day not long after our Little Monkey was born. One of those days in which you have a disaster hairdresser visit and need an urgent remedy. I found the remedy (crochet headband) on Etsy! and I realized that we could work on this with my Mom as a knitting collaborator. Influenced and inspired by the buzzing mix of fashion cultures that that coexist in the city of San Francisco, we started creating women's accessories with the beautiful fashion fabrics that we found in the Mission markets.
We are now 3 and a half years down the road and we have been expanding. I still do a lot of the sewing now, and you'll find me designing our samples, cutting blanket scarves and shipping out your orders!
My little shop has now grown into a team of three people and a collaborator who are busy working very hard on making the coolest, handmade women's accessories out there.
I hope you love my products, and you'll definitely look pretty wearing them!!
xoxo
